An Emmy award-winning producer, writer and director of documentaries who heads up the creation of virtual reality (VR) content for National Geographic. He’s also a frequent collaborator and important member of the Still Life Projects team. Max has covered some of the most high-profile and controversial topics to hit America in recent years, including Guantanamo Bay, where he spent five weeks as part of the only documentary team ever permitted to film inside, and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. From 2007 to 2011 Salomon was the senior producer of National Geographic's flagship Explorer series.

Virtual reality as a medium is changing the way media is produced, and the way it’s being consumed. Max Salomon is one of those at the forefront of the field, navigating the new landscape of virtual reality documentary storytelling.
